The violin and viola are two different small, four-stringed instruments typically played in the orchestra. They are a bit more traditional than some of our other instruments, and are often featured in classical music.
Because of their small size, the violin and viola are great instruments for small hands to learn!
The viola is slightly larger than the violin, and has a slightly lower pitch and more “mellow” tone, similar to how a soprano voice is somewhat higher and airier than an alto voice.
The violin and viola may be orchestral instruments, but they are beautiful and fun when played on their own as well! Take violin or viola lessons at Edge Music Academy and learn to play all your pop music favorites, as well as classical music standards. Violin and viola lessons are currently available in all our service areas including Naperville, Homer Glen, Bolingbrook, Lockport, Woodridge, Lemont, Mokena, Frankfort and Orland Park.
